SHANGHAE-Ningpo Railway. Please see your telegram No. 8 of the 10th January. Is there in your opinion any objection to Hillier's suggestion? The corporation are submitting the matter to legal opinion before applying to court. It is to be hoped that Chinese are in a position to replace the funds they have already withdrawn, so that the amount of loan suffers no diminution; in that case the shareholders would apparently not lose by the change suggested. We assume that Chinese can arrange this.
